Right Glove

Cuff:

Chevron Lace Band (worked back and forth)
CO 42 (47, 52) sts and purl the first two rows, slipping the first st of every row (continue to slip the first st of every row until you join to work in the round).
Work 5 repeats of the Chevron Lace, ending with a WS row. Purl one row, then knit one row.

Divide sts evenly on four needles and join to work in the round, being careful not to twist. Place marker to indicate beginning of rnd. K2tog, purl until 2 sts before marker, ssk. Purl one rnd, then knit two rnds. 40 (45,50) sts.

Strawberry Lace Band (worked in the round)
Next round (first strawberry band row): knit 0 (3, 1) sts, work row 1 of Strawberry Lace 5 (5,6) times, knit 0 (2, 1) sts.

Second strawberry band row: knit all sts.

Third strawberry band row: knit 0 (3, 1) sts, work row 3 of Strawberry Lace 5 (5,6) times, knit 0 (2, 1) sts.

Fourth strawberry band row: knit all sts.

Fifth strawberry band row: knit 0 (3, 1) sts, work row 5 of Strawberry Lace 5 (5,6) times, knit 0 (2, 1) sts.

Work two rows in stockinette stitch, then purl one row.

Next row: purl 37 (42, 47) sts, PM. This indicates the beginning of all further rounds.

Right Glove Hand

The hand is divided in three sections: back hand (worked in Chevron Lace), thumb section, palm. The thumb is set in using a gusset, worked as paired increases, filled with plain stockinette.

Gusset rnd 1: work first row of Chevron Lace 5 (5,6) times, PM, YO, PM, k20 (k25,k25). 41 (46,51) sts.

Gusset rnds 2, 3, 4: work one rnd stockinette, work first row of Chevron Lace 5 (5,6) times, k20 (k25,k25). work one rnd stockinette.

Gusset rnd 5: work first row of Chevron Lace 5 (5,6) times, slip marker (slm), YO, knit to next marker, YO, slm, k20 (k25,k25). 43 (48,53) sts.

Gusset rnds 6, 7, 8: work one rnd stockinette, work first row of Chevron Lace 5 (5,6) times, slm, k to next marker, slm, k20 (k25,k25). work one rnd stockinette.

Repeat Gusset rounds 5-8, 5 (6, 7) times more, increasing a total of 13 (15, 17) sts.

Place increased sts (sts between markers) on waste yarn and remove markers. 25 (25, 30) sts on back of the hand, 13 (15, 17 sts on waste yarn), 20 (25, 25, 25) sts on palm.

Next rnd: work first row of Chevron Lace 5 (5,6) times, k20 (k25,k25).
Work one rnd stockinette.

Repeat the last two rnds 5 (6,7) times.

Right Glove Fingers

Pinky:

Knit 5 (5, 6) sts from back of the hand, put the next 30 (34, 38) sts on st holder, backward loop CO 3 using a second needle, k5 (k6, k6) using a third needle. This 13 (14, 16) sts will form your pinkie.

Next rnd: k1 (k1, k2), work row 1 of Chevron Lace, k7 (k8, k9).
Next rnd: knit all sts.

Repeat the last two rows until your right pinky is almost covered (about 1/16’’ of the top should still be visible).

Next rnd: *k2tog * to last st, k1 (k0, k0). 6, (7, 8) sts
Next rnd: *k2tog * to last st, k0 (k1, k0). 3, (4, 4) sts.

Break yarn, put through remaining sts and pull tight.

Ring Finger:

Put 5 (5, 6) sts from waste yarn (back of the hand) onto working needle #1, leave the next 20 (23, 26) sts on st holder, backward loop CO 4 using a second needle, k5 (k6, k6) from the palm side of the holder using a third needle, pick up and knit 3 (4, 3) sts from the pinky base (this ensures no gaps between the fingers). This 17 (18, 19) sts will form your ring finger.

Next rnd: k1 (k1, k2), work row 1 of Chevron Lace, k11 (k12, k12).
Next rnd: knit all sts.

Repeat the last two rows until your right ring finger is almost covered (about 1/16’’ of the top should still be visible).

Next rnd: *k2tog * to last st, k1 (k0, k1). 8, (9, 9) sts
Next rnd: *k2tog * to last st, k0 (k1, k1). 4, (4, 4) sts.

Put yarn through remaining sts and pull tight.

Middle Finger:

Put 5 (5, 6) sts from waste yarn (back of the hand) onto working needle #1, leave the next 10 (11, 12) sts on st holder, backward loop CO 4 using a second needle, k5 (k6, k6) from the palm side of the holder using a third needle, pick up and knit 3 (4, 3) sts from the ring finger base (this ensures no gaps between the fingers). This 17 (19, 19) sts will form your middle finger.

Next rnd: k1 (k1, k2), work row 1 of Chevron Lace, k11 (k12, k12).
Next rnd: knit all sts.

Repeat the last two rows until your right middle finger is almost covered (about 1/16’’ of the top should still be visible).

Next rnd: *k2tog * to last st, k1 (k0, k1). 8, (9, 9) sts
Next rnd: *k2tog * to last st, k0 (k1, k1). 4, (4, 4) sts.

Put yarn through remaining sts and pull tight.

Index Finger:

Put 10 (11, 12) sts from holder onto working needles #1 and #2 (divide evenly), pick up and knit 6 (5, 5) sts from the middle finger base (this ensures no gaps between the fingers). This 16 (16, 17) sts will form your index finger.

Next rnd: k1 (k1, k2), work row 1 of Chevron Lace, k10 (k11, k10).
Next rnd: knit all sts.

Repeat the last two rows until your right index finger is almost covered (about 1/16’’ of the top should still be visible).

Next rnd: *k2tog * to last st, k0 (k0, k1). 8, (8, 9) sts
Next rnd: *k2tog * to last st, k0 (k0, k1). 4, (4, 5) sts.

Put yarn through remaining sts and pull tight.

Thumb:

Put 13 (15, 17) from waste yarn onto needles. Reattach yarn with palm facing and pick up and knit 4 sts from index finger base. 17 (19, 21) sts.

Next rnd: k4 (k6, k8), work row 1 of Chevron Lace, k8 (k10, k12).
Next rnd: knit all sts.

Repeat the last two rows until finger is almost covered (about 1/16’’ of the top should still be visible).

Next rnd: *k2tog * to last st, k1. 9, (10, 11) sts
Next rnd: *k2tog * to last st, k1 (k0, k1). 5 (5, 6) sts.

Put yarn through remaining sts and pull tight.

Left Glove

Cuff:

Chevron Lace Band (worked back and forth)
CO 42 (47, 52) sts and purl the first two rows, slipping the first st of every row (continue to slip the first st of every row until you join to work in the round).

Fourth strawberry band row: knit all sts.

Fifth strawberry band row: knit 0 (3, 1) sts, work row 5 of Strawberry Lace 5 (5,6) times, knit 0 (2, 1) sts.

Work two rows in stockinette stitch, then purl one row.

Left Glove Hand

Repeat Gusset rounds 5-8, 5 (6, 7) times more, increasing a total of 13 (15, 17) sts.

Place increased sts (sts between markers) on waste yarn and remove markers. 20 (25, 25) sts on palm, 13 (15, 17 sts on waste yarn), 25 (25, 30) sts on back of the hand.

Next rnd: k20 (k25,k25), work first row of Chevron Lace 5 (5,6) times.

Repeat the last two rnds 5 (6,7) times.

Left Glove Fingers

Pinky:

Knit 5 (6, 6) sts from palm, put the next 30 (34, 38) sts on st holder, backward loop CO 3 using a second needle, k5 (k5, k6) using a third needle. This 13 (14, 16) sts will form your pinkie.

Next rnd: k7 (k8, k9), work row 1 of Chevron Lace, k1 (k1, k2).
Next rnd: knit all sts.

Repeat the last two rows until your left pinky is almost covered (about 1/16’’ of the top should still be visible).

Next rnd: *k2tog * to last st, k1 (k0, k0). 6, (7, 8) sts
Next rnd: *k2tog * to last st, k0 (k1, k0). 3, (4, 4) sts.

Break yarn, put through remaining sts and pull tight.

Ring Finger:

Reattach yarn and k5 (k6, k6) from the palm side of the sts on holder, leave the next 20 (23, 26) sts on st holder, backward loop CO 4 using a second needle, put 5 (5, 6) sts from holder (back of the hand) onto a third needle, pick up 3 (4, 3) sts from the pinky base (this ensures no gaps between the fingers). This 17 (18, 19) sts will form your ring finger.

Next rnd: k9 (k10, k10), work row 1 of Chevron Lace, k3 (k4, k3).
Next rnd: knit all sts.

Repeat the last two rows until your left ring finger is almost covered (about 1/16’’ of the top should still be visible).

Next rnd: *k2tog * to last st, k1 (k0, k1). 8, (9, 9) sts
Next rnd: *k2tog * to last st, k0 (k1, k1). 4, (4, 4) sts.

Put yarn through remaining sts and pull tight.

Middle Finger:

Put yarn through remaining sts and pull tight.

Finishing

Sew buttons in place (see schematics. Please note just the right glove is shown – the left one is mirrored). There is no need for a buttonhole (we use the first Chevron Lace YO).

Weave in ends and block if desired.

Charts

The Chevron Lace is used both in the Cuff section (where it is worked back and forth) and in the hand section (where it is worked in the round). If worked back and forth, every second row is a wrong side row and is purled, as stated in the chart. In case of being worked in the round, every row is a right side row and row 2 consists of knit sts only.
