In Old English, the daisy was called “day’s eye” for its habit of opening at the first light of dawn and shutting as the light faded. Common but never unexceptional, the daisy is one of my favorite flowers, and tweed is one of my favorite textures. The tangled cables of this comfy hat travel up and twist themselves into a nine-petal daisy on top, making any day a little sunnier.
If you find the sight of so many cables intimidating, never fear! The pattern is written to minimize use of a cable needle.
