I love a hat that can be worn many different ways, or “morphed” into many different styles. This one in particular can be worn as a beanie/skullcap, tam, slouch, and even a snood if you have enough hair to stretch it out (or if you continue the pattern to add some length). Anyone can change Sweet Georgia to fit her own style.

Other Notes
The laceweight version of this hat is decreased really quickly so at the top it bunches, or puckers giving it a more tam, or slouch hat look. If you don’t like this you can either cover it with a pompom (make it a golfer hat) or incorporate the same decreasing type as the worsted weight hat, which is decreased to be more of a beanie or skullcap.
I gave this pattern an intermediate difficulty rating because the laceweight version can be very tiring on the hands. Stitches can slip off the needle easily and are hard to recover. The worsted weight version, though, is much easier, and quite quick to knit. So if you are weary of achy hands, try the worsted weight version.
